A Beautiful Child
In Into the Wild, the very beautiful film directed by Sean Penn, she brightens the screen. Kristen Stewart, aged 17, has a long career behind her, smokes and doesn’t drink alcohol. The little girl from Panic Room has grown up. Meeting on a parking in West Hollywood.
Harry Potter did it for wizards, Lord of the Rings won big for hobbits, and Narnia brought it home for the talking woodland creatures. But can a soon-to-shoot movie similarly turn the creaky film cliché of vampires into the next multimillion-dollar fantasy flick franchise?
“The movie is called Twilight,” 17-year-old Into the Wild actress Kristen Stewart beamed when we recently spoke to her. “[Lords of Dogtown filmmaker] Catherine Hardwicke is directing it in Washington. It’s based on a book that’s pretty popular [among] young adult, high school kids.”
Rising star Kristen Stewart made Emile Hirsch question his right-on attitude in Sean Penn’s Into the Wild with her good looks and rock-chick style. The 17-year-old is also the hottest young actress in Hollywood right now, with Catherine Hardwicke recently snapping her up to star in teen vampire flick Twilight. She has also just wrapped Adventureland, Greg Mottola’s eagerly anticipated follow-up to Superbad, and IGN recently caught up with her to find out more about the flick.
IGN: Were you a fan of director Greg Mottola?

Where you’ve seen her: She was in winter’s hit thriller The Messengers. Beginning April 20, you can catch her in In the Land of Women.
Seeing Double? Kristen’s love interest in both films is played by the same actor, cutie Dustin Milligan.
“It was a total coincidence. I’d worked with him on Messengers but didn’t know he had even auditioned for Women until I saw him in wardrobe fitting. I was so excited! He’s a great guy.”
16-year old Kristen Stewart admits to being quite critical about the movies she is in. Yet the young actress – who made a strong impact back in 2002′s Panic Room – admits to be surprisingly happy with her latest film, The Messengers. “Every movie that I’ve ever done always looks fake in some way and this one just looks real. They did such a good job and the pacing of it is so eerie.”
